Primer is the first step in the Core and Reinforced systems. It prepares the surface and promotes strong adhesion and a moisture barrier.

Mix together Part A and Part B.  Apply evenly with a roller over a clean, sanded surface. Do not leave puddles or heavy areas. Roll over every area twice and switch directions.

While the primer is still wet, broadcast kiln dried sand to create mechanical bond. 

Coverage: 600–650 sq ft per pail, depending on how porous your surface is. Cures in 30 minutes to 4 hours before the next step.

How to apply

5 steps

  1. 1

    Prep the surface

    Apply only to clean, dry, solid, smooth floors or walls. Imperfections may show through.

  2. 2

    Mix Part A + B

    Full container: mix Part A with Part B. Mixing less? Use the 75:25 ratio by weight — the calculator works it out. Pot life is 60 minutes.

  3. 3

    Mix with a drill

    Use a drill mixing tool at slow speed and blend fully. Do not undermix. Mix for 3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Roll on evenly

    On floors, broadcast 60–80 grit silica sand over the entire surface in small sections.

  5. 5

    Let dry

    Walls 60 minutes. Floors 2 hours.

Ratio is 75:25 by weight — always weigh, never eyeball. One kit is 5.00 kg (Part A 3.75 kg, Part B 1.25 kg). Ounces here are scale ounces; the millilitres are there if you would rather pour.
