Most microcement in the United States cannot be bought unless you have taken a training course and hold a trade account. That is a reasonable model, and our sister company Microcement USA runs exactly that way for professionals. Microvella is the other option.

What you actually need to buy

Microcement is not one product. It is a set of coats that go on in order, and which coats you need depends on what is underneath and whether it gets wet.

The mesh and build coat are what stop movement underneath from reaching your finish, and what keep old grout lines from telegraphing through. On the substrates that need them they are not optional.

How much to order

Run your area through the material calculator before you buy anything. It works out the exact products and quantities for your job, with the 10% overage we build into every estimate.

One thing to understand first: you cannot buy half a pail. A 40 sq ft shower floor and a 100 sq ft shower surround cost the same in material, because both need one unit of each product.
